New Earswick & District Bowls Club's nomination for a prestigious national Sports Club of the Year Award has been successful. Club representatives were presented with the Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) Of The Year award by Mark Ramprakash at the awards ceremony held at the Grange St Pauls Hotel London on 3rd May.
This prestigious award recognises the progress the club has made over the last 6 years to become a successful community serving club which in addition to bowls, provides a number of other leisure pursuits which can be enjoyed fom ages 6 to 97 (our current active age range!).
We also work with remedial and disability groups to work out ways in which our facilities can be used to get as many people as possible back into leisure, sport and social activities - look through our pages for more details or ring Andy on 750230.
Situated close to the centre of the City of York, New Earswick & District Indoor Bowling Club has an 8-rink bowling green, bar, restaurant and function facilities. Details of our extensive bowling programme, plus other facilities can be found by following the links on the left of each page. We have full wheelchair access, promote inclusion in all our offerings and are always seeking opportunities to extend our community involvement - the latest of which was an After School Club which started in Jan 2011.
New bowlers are always welcome and we offer free "taster" opportunities for your 1st session if pre-booked and our qualified coaches will be on hand to introduce to this enjoyable sport. Woods and shoes can be loaned (no charge) until you are sure it's right for you.
 The next taster session is on Saturday 7th January 2012 between 10.00am & 2.00pm.
Whatever your motives for taking up a new activity, be it meeting new people, taking regular exercise, competitive sport, we can meet your desire at any or all of these levels.
Current members ages range between 7 and 97 - so its a game for families across the generations.
We are currently applying for Clubmark Accreditation.
